Quick Weekend in Dubrovnik
Long weekend in Dubrovnik? We found a cheap flight so we figured why not!
Ken and I went for a long weekend (crazy I know) over Memorial Day 2017. We went with best friends of ours and had an amazing time. The weather was absolute perfection. We had 4 nights and 3 whole days.
Accommodations:
100% recommend staying in the Old City area (which is within the city walls) We booked through Airbnb; Nikola (the host) was amazing (left us with a stocked fridge - beer/wine/soda and gave us chocolate!): The location was perfect, you could practically reach out and touch the wall, and was so close to everything.
Restaurants:
We ate at Panorama – amazing views and the food was really good. You don’t have to eat dinner here, but take the cable car up the mountain to see the amazing view of Dubrovnik: http://nautikarestaurant.com/panorama-restaurant-bar/ If you decide to go, make a reservation and sit outside (take a wrap as it gets chilly, they do have heaters and blankets though)
Moskar Konoba restaurant – we ate here the first night after quite a long trip. Food was good https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g295371-d1527491-Reviews-Moskar_Konoba-Dubrovnik_Dubrovnik_Neretva_County_Dalmatia.html
Pizzeria Domenica – We ate lunch here after walking the wall. Enjoyed delicious pizza and salads (and wine). https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g295371-d1501961-Reviews-Pizzeria_Domenica-Dubrovnik_Dubrovnik_Neretva_County_Dalmatia.html
Ora Labora Doo – We ate dinner the last night. Had a lot of fun drinking too much wine and enjoying Italian food. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g295371-d12554650-Reviews-Ora_Labora_D_o_o-Dubrovnik_Dubrovnik_Neretva_County_Dalmatia.html
Bars:
Make sure you go to both Buza bars (on the side of the wall overlooking the water - amazing)
Must Do:
Walk the wall and see the fort (cost of doing both is included in one ticket), but we got tickets the day of (not sure if you should get tickets in advance though)
Private boat tour: http://www.dubrovnikboats.com/ We loved this so much we actually did it 2 days. Very affordable. We rented a boat with our friends and got to jet around to different stopping points. The driver anchored so we could get in the water and found amazing lunch spots both days. The first day we went to a restaurant where there was not even a menu, just amazing fresh fish. We also got to swim in caves. The water was freezing! The second day, we ate at Restaurant Dubrovnik. Food was good, views were amazing. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1GGRV_enUS751US751&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=restaurant%20dubrovnik%20croatia&npsic=0&rflfq=1&rlha=0&rllag=42648556,18090674,1784&tbm=lcl&rldimm=3378011389411132588&ved=0ahUKEwjH5KiQiZ7XAhUh0IMKHSmnAlAQvS4IRjAA&rldoc=1&tbs=lrf:!2m1!1e2!2m1!1e3!3sIAE,lf:1,lf_ui:9#rlfi=hd:;si:3378011389411132588;mv:!1m3!1d19657.829908146876!2d18.0966137!3d42.64191635!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i643!2i643!4f13.1;tbs:lrf:!2m1!1e2!2m1!1e3!3sIAE,lf:1,lf_ui:9
Walk around Old town Dubrovnik at night. It is charming, all of the cruise ships are gone and just really cool vibe. The whole town felt very safe.
