Magical Mozambique

Magical Mozambique

We added on a few days in Mozambique after our South African adventure. They say “Bush before Beach” and they were right. A safari is absolutely next level amazing, however it is exhausting with adrenaline and excitement!

We took a car from Sabi Sabi Sands to Krueger Airport. It was about a 2 hr car ride and we got to see more animals along the way so like a mini safari 😉

Kruger Airport is very small and we took about an hour flight over to Vilankulos, Mozambique.

Flying into Vilankulos - so amazing!

We did research on where to stay and found an adorable boutique hotel (in a compound) about 15 minutes from the airport. Upon arrival and driving through the town we were definitely not in Kansas anymore! Women were proudly walking with baskets with groceries and goods on their heads, balancing perfectly!

These women were impressive!

We stayed at Santorini Mozambique https://santorinimozambique.com/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsaqzBhDdARIsAK2gqneO_rgJE57-Y5zJ2dy6SnV5_R8WobBMns6Hw4E95vO7JtUjUTOTz9MaAvbGEALw_wcB

which was an adorable resort with about 15 rooms. The resort was all inclusive where each meal was crafted by their chef team and they made it feel as if you were in a different restaurant each meal by moving you around the resort. There was a kitchen area that you could just help yourself to a snack or drink anytime you’d like. The staff was warm and inviting and we enjoyed every minute of the relaxing trip. They had a pizza oven as well. One night we had the local crayfish which was essentially lobster but honestly better! The food was so fresh and each meal was delicious and with exceptional presentation.

There were 2 pools and the beach was just down the hill where the tide change went in and out by what seemed like a mile. We had a fabulous beach day where we were served lunch at the beach, and another day where we took an adventure to a deserted island and got to see dugongs (really only in this area of the world and almost extinct) – They are a cross between a dolphin and a manatee and they were graceful and beautiful. We got to snorkel along the way, and the staff set up an amazing beach picnic lunch!

Beach lunch

One day for lunch we went to the gardens where the chefs get their fruits and vegetables and got to have a farm to table (literally) lunch that was absolutely delicious.

I also enjoyed the spa!

We stayed at Santorini Mozambique for 4 days and it went by so fast but we loved every moment of the relaxation! If you ever have a chance to visit we would highly recommend!
